To get the most from your mailings, you need to sent to the best list. And if you and using names from USMailOrderMailingLists.com, then you have that covered. What else
can you do to ensure the most responses and profits? Make your envelope inviting. If you use a message on the outside of the envelope, be sure it is not overdone- a "junky" envelope says "junk mail" to most people. Your mailing piece is an important opportunity for the recipient, make sure the envelope reflects that feeling. Your flyer
or enclosure should be attractively designed and printed. Here's
a novel idea- mail one of your mailing pieces to yourself! When
it arrives, try to notice your first impression upon finding
it as you sort through your daily mail. Remove the contents and
see if you hit these points: Remember that your potential buyer needs to know some key information, like the cost and the concept you are selling. Make these things clear, and describe them up front, in a way that tells the buyer why they need to make the decision to buy right away. Be sure your mailing piece contains ample ordering and contact information. Do not expect people to mail off their hard earned cash to a return address that consists of initials and a post box. If your offer is as good as you say- you should be willing to put at least your name, address and phone number on the piece. Most people will not call you with questions- but all like to know they could if they wanted to. Look at your mailing pieces as your hired "salesmen" you would send out well groomed, neat, informed and professional salesmen if you expect them to bring back a filled sales order book to you. Same applies to direct mail pieces send out a shoddy, unprofessional mailing and you'll get back nothing. In general, opportunity seekers tend to hold onto mail that interests them- you may get responses weeks or months after a mailing. So if your offer is time sensitive, be sure to say so. Along those same lines experience shows that many prospects will not respond until the second or third mailing the receive from you. It's just thenature of the beast and you should consider it as part of doing business by mail. I personally make mailings of about 100 a day to my list... when I get to the end of the list I start over mailing to it. I have been doing that for years and have been through the list many times and always get lots of orders...by adding, deleting offers in my mailings, but keeping the primary offer intact.
